Personal tracking and shared groups

Use a private group for your own expenses and shared groups for trips, housemates, or other costs you split.

01

How groups work

Expenses in TmCount belong to groups. A personal group has one member: you. A shared group has several members, such as your housemates or the people on a trip. Both use the same expense, category, and stats screens.

Open the group for the expense you want to record. You can keep personal spending separate from shared bills.

02

Tracking your own expenses

Create a group and leave yourself as the only member. Add groceries, transport, subscriptions, and other costs. Categories and monthly charts help you see where you spent your money.

Other people can’t see your personal group unless you invite them. If you later need to share costs, you can invite someone to that group or create a separate one.

03

Sharing costs with other people

Create a group and add the people who share its costs. You can add existing TmCount users, send an invite link, or use placeholders for people who haven’t signed up yet.

The group records who paid, each person’s share, and repayments. For example, put a restaurant bill from a trip in the trip group and your own groceries in your personal group.

04

Seeing your totals

Account stats combine activity across your groups. You can view personal and shared spending together and filter by category.

Archive a finished group to remove it from the main list. You can still open it later. To reuse its members and categories for another trip, duplicate the group.
